Finally Got Some Migrants!

We did much better today with 52 new birds and 1 recapture of 13 different species.  The increase of bird activity today was a direct effect of the cold front that came through last night.  We added two new species for the season:  Yellow-billed Cuckoo and Eastern Towhee.  We totally missed on cuckoos last fall after having banded several of them in 2011, so it was nice to get one in the net this morning.  I can't believe it has taken this long to catch an Eastern Towhee this fall as they have been all over KIBS.
