Sweet Yellow Warblers

Captain Sam's:

We had a slower day at the station today, with a total of 25 birds and 10 different species. We caught an adorable female Ruby-throated Hummingbird. And a very handsome male Yellow Warbler.

After hatch year, male Yellow Warbler

Adult males are commonly identified by their orange-red streaking on the breast. In the spring and summer, they can be found in many states all throughout the U.S. Yellow Warblers sing one of my very favorite bird songs: "Sweet sweet sweet, I'm so sweet."

Our Little Bear site is now fully set up, and should be up and running on Thursday.
