Spinning Our Wheels

 Captain Sam's:

Today was another slow day. We still captured some Myrtle Warblers but nothing super exciting. As the day-time temperatures start to rise a little each day, our big chance of having another great migration day seems to go down. I'm still holding out for some good birds even if we don't get a nice push of birds during northwest winds.

Little Bear:

Just like the past few days, there weren't very many birds flying around Little Bear. There's no denying that the end of fall migration in on the horizon, but we're all hoping for a few more exciting days before the season's end. While yesterday's snake sighting was a real heart-stopper, today we found a snake who was a bit friendlier.

Rough Green Snake

Green Snakes like this one are fairly common in the eastern US, are non-venomous, and very docile. Its always fun to have some other wildlife to entertain us on days without much bird activity.
