FOS: Seaside Sparrow

Captain Sam's

Things were pretty slow at Captain Sam's, with some wind and a few light scattered rain showers. We caught many of our regular species, with one interesting Swainson's Thrush. This hatch-year had retained many of its buffy-tipped juvenile back and wing covert feathers, which are usually replaced in its first fall molt.

Little Bear

This morning was beautiful and mild winded out at little bear.
We were able to open all but one net for the first time this week.
Cloud cover was present the majority of the day,  which kept the temperature in the 70's most of the morning. We Captured 38 new birds, 10 recaptures which Comprised of 12 different species.
The highlight of the day was this Seaside Sparrow.

Little bear also caught a recapture a male Common ground-Dove banded in the fall of 2015.

As we were packing up late this morning a light rain shower set in, making for a pleasant walk out.
