Slow Start to November

Strong south winds coupled with a wall of rain to our west and north pretty much shut down migration last night, and it showed in our numbers this morning.  We only banded 8 new birds and 6 recaptures of 5 different species.  We were not able to open all of our nets today due to the windy conditions but I don't think having all the nets open would have helped us out anymore.

All three Yellow-rumped Warbler recaptures were returns from previous seasons:  original banding dates - 2/15/12, 11/12/12, 1/25/13.
