Unsettled Weather

Captain Sam's

It was a slow day at Captain Sam's. A surprise downpour caused us to close all nets for a while and the threat of more showers and wind had us closing early for the day. We ended up with just a handful of birds: 4 new and 5 recaptures.

Little Bear

Wind and random popup showers did not make for an ideal day of banding at Little Bear.  Working around the wind and the rain, we managed to catch 13 new birds and 4 recaptures.  These less than ideal conditions were brought on by the leading edge of the first cold front of the season.  As the current forecast stands, it looks like we should see our first big push of migrants on either Thursday or Friday.
