CAPTAIN SAMS
27 new and 15 recaps of 9 species were our numbers at the Captain's today. 23 of our new bird and 8 of our recaps were Myrtle Yellow-rumped warblers, so we're very thankful for those guys giving us something to do, and they're fun to band as well. The weather was interesting today, with some clouds and a little rain which switched to clear skies and some wind later in the morning.
We went out into the marshes again in the afternoon to catch some more sparrows. Our efforts today gave us many more birds! We had a good number of Seaside Sparrows, several Saltmarsh Sparrows, and one Nelson's Sparrow.

LITTLE BEAR
It was a little busier out at Little Bear today with a total of 21 birds. We had 14 new birds and 7 recaps of 10 species. It was still pretty breezy but there were more birds around in general with a couple little flocks of yellow-rumps finding the nets. We also had a couple of fun recaps with an Eastern Towhee and a Downy Woodpecker.
