The Wind and Rain Begins

Captain Sam's

The strong winds this morning caused us to open less nets than usual.  The winds and last night's rain kept most birds from migrating, so our capture rate was pretty low. Our totals today were 20 new birds and 6 recaptures of 7 species. Catbirds were our highest capture, and we continued to catch the Tennessee Warbler we have been catching over the past few days. We're hoping to be able to open tomorrow, but the wind and rain forecasted may shut us down.

Little Bear

Today the weather was not in our favour and we were unable to open any nets. Despite the blustery forecast we headed out this morning to check on the nets, hoping we could open a few. Sadly that was not the case, and Little Bear was closed for the day.
