See Ya Later Alligator!

Captain Sam's:

Hello to all you fellow bird nerds, we are back up and running today at Captain Sam's! Despite the warm and muggy conditions, we had a pretty exciting morning out at the nets! The crew's first run of the morning yielded some fun birds including a season-first Veery and a Captain Sam's and fall-migration-banding-first Sora!! These little chickens of the marsh have giant feet and are very secretive when moving through reeds and cattails. Check this one out!

Little Bear:

The crew finished up banding birds at Captain Sam's and then headed over to Little Bear to set up nets again after Hurricane Dorian pushed through last week. We all suffered from blood loss to some hungry mosquitoes and encountered an American alligator that had moved in while we were away.
