After a very slow morning, our numbers picked up today thanks to a flock of Yellow-rumped Warblers! We finished the day with 41 new birds banded and 8 recaps of 14 species. We were treated to our second White-throated Sparrow and second Golden-crowned Kinglet of the season.
Little Bear
So we've been practicing Spanish around the house "antes de" Dan's big trip to Spain after the season is done so we've been using a lot of Spanglish like Junco in the Trunko. But guess what? We also got a Dark-eyed Junco today! She had zero fat on her so we think she traveled quite a ways to get here, but we welcomed her with the normal paparazzi fanfare and snapped a couple of pictures.
