Deja Vu

Captain Sam's:

Despite our best effort, today was just like yesterday- not much going on. We caught 19 birds this morning, all common species that we've gotten to know well during our time here. That time is almost up, as tomorrow will be the last day of banding for us remaining assistants, leaving Aaron to close out the month on his own. Its been another successful season filled with birds, learning, and some fun times along the way. I'm immensely grateful to have spent another fall migration here at Kiawah, and to enjoy so many early mornings with kindred bird nerds. It was great spending another season with Kristin, Dan, and Vince, and to get to know Sarah S and Sarah M during out time together this fall- Y'all rocked it this year and I wish everyone the best with your future wildlife endeavors! 2020 has been a year unlike any other, with huge challenges that few would have predicted a year ago at this time. Many thanks go out to the town of Kiawah Island, the Kiawah Conservancy, and our fearless leader Aaron for hosting us again this fall and for keeping the bird migration research going. Until next time...
