FOS: Black-throated Blue Warbler

Today was very fitting for this time of year with 18 new birds and 8 recaptures, made up of 9 species.  More than half of the species banded today were either residents or local breeders.  However, we did capture our first of the season Black-throated Blue Warbler.  Black-throated Blue Warbler breeding range extends from southeastern Canada to southern New England and also along the Appalachian Mountain range.  In the fall, they migrate down through southeastern United States on their way to the Greater Antilles, where they will spend the winter.
