CAPTAIN SAM'S

Today was a slow day with only 11 newly banded birds and 15 recaptures. The tides came in high and we used this advantage to try and capture some marsh sparrows. We did manage to capture a Savannah Sparrow, which was beautiful!

LITTLE BEAR

It started off very windy at Little Bear and we were only able to operate 7 nets for most of the morning. Luckily, the wind decreased towards the end of the morning and we were able to open most of the nets back up and stay open for the full 6 hours. In this time, we only caught 9 new birds and 6 recaptures of 10 different species. A cold front is coming through tomorrow morning that will hopefully bring us more birds into the weekend. It will also bring us our coldest temperatures yet!
