And on the Seventh Day...

 Captain Sams:

In anticipation of a slow day, I decided to give the banding crew the day off today.  We had a busy week last week and everyone deserved a little break from banding.  We have a cold front moving through this evening, so everybody should be fresh for a whole new batch of birds in the morning.

I ran Captain Sams solo today.  As expected, it was pretty slow with only 15 new birds and 16 recaptures of 11 species.
I gotta keep this one short, as I need to head out the door and get back to Kiawah to do another deer survey tonight.  Last night was the first survey of the fall.  We will do another set of two surveys in January.  These surveys will help us determine the size of Kiawah's deer population.
