CAPTAIN SAM'S
What a change compared to the last couple of days! The wind finally subsided and I was able to open up all the nets. I had more birds on my first net run than I had all day yesterday. Birds truly do hunker down when its windy as exemplified by the 33 recaptures captured today.
Sparrows are sometimes underappreciated and often labelled "little brown birds" or "little brown jobs". But being able to observed them close-up allows their true colors to shine and proves they are more than LBJs. Below are some examples the intricated patterns and colors of the four species of sparrows that were captured today.
