Captain Sam's:
Today's weather was quite a show. It has been hard to tell if the rain will hit us or if it will pass. Such a game I would say. We ended our day a tad early due to the storm coming off the coast. We did manage to catch a total of 32 birds! 19 of them being newly banded. Everything has been the same each day with catbirds, yellowthroats and vireos being our top birds everyday. We did catch a nice young Black-throated Blue Warbler as a treat today. I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed and hope for a good bird that might pop up at either sites this week. We have been getting higher tides lately during banding hours, so we might end up with a Seaside or Saltmarsh Sparrow soon!

Little Bear:
Today was probably the most overcast I’ve ever seen it at Little Bear without the rain. Overcast days make for really good netting days so we stayed open for quite a while. We hoping that the few birds we were catching could be a neat migrant. Oddly enough the only birds that we recaught today were all Northern Cardinals. A dangerous game it came be to extract a Cardinal without getting bit, thankfully only one got me today. It’s been hard to judge the weather and what’ll happen at the stations these next few days but fingers crossed for no rain and a good push of migrants for Friday!
