The non-tropical low pressure system continued into today which prevented us from being able to open up the nets for the second straight day at Captain Sam's and the fourth straight day at Little Bear. The storm produced a good amount of rain and wind, and coincided with November's King Tides. The strong north winds that were produced by the storm caused the King Tides to be even higher than they normally would - almost a foot higher than predicted. The storm produced rotational winds like we would see in a tropical storm or hurricane with gusts over 30 mph recorded at Kiawah's weather station. The storm has now moved out into the Atlantic which should open up the Atlantic Flyway for any birds that might be ready to move south. Both Captain Sam's and Little Bear will be back in action tomorrow.
