09 October 2014

It was a much better day than I had expected with 74 new birds and 25 recaptures of 18 different species.  The weather forecast did not give any indication that last night's conditions would be favorable for migrating but I awoke this morning to a radar filled with birds.  Thanks for the heads up, Cathy!  Much of the movement seemed to be inland but there was decent activity along the coast as well.  A quick peek at the current radar shows heavy migration occurring along the coast right now so I predict that we will have a pretty good day tomorrow.
