CAPTAIN SAMS
Today, we captured 32 new birds and had 10 recaptures of 13 different species. A cold front brought the coldest temperatures we have experienced all season along with the sound of American Goldfinches and American Pipits flying over. The highlights of the day were a late American Redstart and our fourth Blue-headed Vireo. Most American Redstarts migrated through in September and early October. The last redstart we banded was on October 17, so this individual is running a little late.
