CAPTAIN SAMS

The amount unbanded birds decreased dramatically from yesterday as the Yellow-rumps that were present in big numbers were a no-show today. I banded 18 new birds and had 24 recaptures of 12 difference species.  I was teased once again by the Tree Swallow flock.  Today's flock was huge - probably 2000 strong.  It was overcast most of the morning but still warm enough for the swallows to find enough aerial insects to eat as I did not see them coming down into the wax myrtles anywhere.
