Rain and Wind Make For a Short Day

CAPTAIN SAM'S

Rain caused me to open late and wind forced me to close early, and as a result I only had 4 new birds and 3 recaptures.  There just wasn't much moving around today.  I did have a small flock of American White Pelicans fly directly over the station.  White pelicans are not very common around Kiawah, so it's always exciting to see them.

All of the banding assistants (Michael, Kristin, Meredith, Joel, Danae, and Joanne) have left and I am now flying solo for the rest of the season.  I want to thank them for a great season and wish them luck on their next adventure!
