Yellow-rumps Finally Showed Up

CAPTAIN SAMS

After a couple of days off due to bad weather, it was good to get back out on the spit today.  It was a fairly typical mid November day made up of mostly late migrants and winter species.  We banded 63 new birds and had 21 recaptures of 13 different species.  Yellow-rumped Warblers dominated the nets with at total of 48 captured.

Today was Bill's last day as a volunteer for this fall's banding season.  Bill was our most dedicated volunteer helping out 2-3 days per week all season long.  He was instrumental in helping with scribing duties during busy days and by shuttling birds from the nets back to the banding table.  I'd like to thank him for all he did this fall.
