NOWAy, Another Late Bird

 Captain Sam's:

Today at Captain Sam's, we had another decent day filled with Yellow-rumped Warblers. The diversity was a lot better than I expected with species such as White-throated Sparrow, Savannah Sparrow, and House Finch all finding our nets. Myrtle Warblers were again the most abundant species, with only a fraction being caught. Hearing their chips flying over has become part of the background noise at the station.

The Tree Swallows are still in the area, but unfortunately they seem to enjoy other food sources than our selected tree. I saw a couple thousand streaming over us and collecting overhead, which was an amazing sight. 

Although we haven't had a huge flock of Tree Swallows hit the net recently, hopefully Aaron will get them once we're gone.

Little Bear:

Today is likely our penultimate day at Little Bear and based on the more recent days a great one at that! It's been a little while since I've been to Little Bear but glad to be back. The temperature outside makes the station so much more bearable and pleasant. Today was full of surprises; a first net run Yellow-billed Cuckoo, a plethora of Yellow-rumped Warblers, and a very late Northern Waterthrush!
