Windy November

 CAPTAIN SAM'S

Wind speeds over 20 mph early this morning forced me to delay opening the nets until 8:30am.  The wind subsided at bit but was still blowing around 10-15 mph for most of the day.  It ended up being a very slow morning with only 12 new birds and 11 recaptures.  We banded 2 more House Finches today making a total of 14 for the season.  That may not sound like many but our average is only 4.8 per season.

My son helped me out today.  He's not ready to remove birds from the nets yet but he likes to walk around and watch.

Geared up and ready to check the nets.
