CAPTAIN SAMS
Catbird season is here! It was slower than yesterday but Gray Catbirds continued to move into the area with 35 banded today. Overall, we captured 60 new birds and 13 recaptures of 13 species. We also had 5 new hatch year Northern Cardinals that are likely dispersing into the site from other parts of Kiawah or from off island.

LITTLE BEAR
I learned today that the little bears of Little Bear are actually tons of mosquitos (not true, just jokes). In addition to Mosquitos, we captured 68 new birds and 14 recaps of 17 species. Gray Catbirds continue to lead our new bird numbers with 33 new catbirds just today. Moving on to some more fall fun, we had a first of season Myrtle Warbler! We also had some fog over the site today, bringing a spooky atmosphere to banding right in time for October!
