12th of November

Captain Sam's:

Similar to Little Bear, today at Captain Sam's we were disappointed with a really slow day. The morning started off warm, and it grew warmer throughout the day. We're just waiting for another cool-off that will hopefully bring many more birds to get us to 5,000 newly banded birds for the season at Captain Sam's. We caught 25 birds today, but only 8 of them were new. The other 17 were recaps from this season, and also a few that were banded last season.

Little Bear:

We had another pleasantly mild morning at Little Bear, although our number of captures was disappointingly low (21). It really wasn't too different from yesterday, but we don't have any milestones to celebrate or rare birds to tout today. With only a few days of banding at Little Bear remaining, it feels mostly like we're just running out the clock. But also keeping our fingers crossed for a little bit more excitement to find us out here before it's all said and done.
