Slow days are still a treat to have

 Captain Sams:

Things have still been pretty slow at Captain Sam's. We caught 12 birds total, beating yesterday's total by one. With it being more slow we got to spend more time ageing a Downy Woodpecker and measuring a Traill's Flycatcher. With more favorable winds in the next couple days, we'll hopefully get new species and a lot more birds soon.

Our non-bird highlight of the day was feeding a house fly to our new pet praying mantis (we are open to name suggestions!)

Little Bear:

Today was still a slow day but we definitely beat yesterdays numbers! Bringing in with a total of 14 birds! Only 4 of them being recaptures. This is a surprise to me because usually on these slow days we catch the birds that have been banded. I cannot complain because every bird we capture is a lovely treasure to have. No new species have been added to our list but we'll see what these next few days gives us. Hanging around our station has been another Great Egret and a few other herons, so maybe we'll be lucky enough to catch another one!
