FOS Fox Sparrow and American Robin

 Captain Sams:

We banded 29 new birds and had 4 recaptures of 9 different species.  Even though the number of birds captured today was similar to yesterday, the species composition seemed quite different.  Aside from the ever present Yellow-rumped Warblers, we had a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, a couple of Eastern Phoebes, and a House Wren.  In addition, we added two new species for the season - an American Robin and a Fox Sparrow!  This is only the 3rd Fox Sparrow that we have banded in 15 years of banding at KIBS.  The other two came on 11/21/2019 and 11/30/2021.
