November 12th, 2023

 Captain Sams:

A dreary morning it was, starting at a cool 54 degrees. We banded 3 new birds and processed 5 recaps. We gave it the old college try, then decided to close up for the day as the misting turned into a steady drizzle.

Little Bear:

It was a dark and cloudy morning out at Little Bear. Little did the bird banders know of the horrors coming there way...only 12 birds! And what a surprise it was to see that two of these birds were a recap Blackburnian Warbler and a new Blackpoll Warbler! Chilly and rainy weather led to closing the nets earlier than usual, and hopefully more birds visit tomorrow!

Note:  All banding, marking, and sampling is being conducted under a federally authorized Bird Banding Permit issued by the U.S. Geological Survey’s BBL
